What Scientology For You is About What Scientology For You is not about
My Story by Kathy Gold

Senator Nick Xenophon

I contacted Senator Nick Xenophon and informed him of my website. I contacted other politicians too in my journey, alerting them. I asked Senator Nick Xenophon for permission to post his email. I love Australia. They are pirates, they change the rules and get the job done.

And his comm is very fast, he got back to me within 24 hours, speed alone determines power. He is a power terminal. A good guy.

After I contacted them from their website, on March 11, 2013, the reply from my first email:

Dear Kathy,

Thank you for your email to Nick Xenophon and for sharing your story. Nick is currently out of the office but has requested I respond to you on his behalf.

I have passed your comments on to Nick and his senior advisors for their reference and consideration.

Please be advised that Nick does not have an issue with people’s individual beliefs. However, he remains concerned by a number of allegations made against some people involved in the Church of Scientology.

In response to strong advocacy from Nick, The Federal Government is in the process of establishing Australian Charities and Not-For Profits Commission.

A Charities Commission will ensure that only organisations which provide charity, in the true sense of the word, will be able to benefit from tax exempt status. According to the 2011-12 Budget papers, these reforms “are expected to result in additional tax revenue of $41 million over four years as a result of increased compliance activity to ensure that not-for-profit tax concessions are used only as intended”.

Thank you for taking the time to write to Nick.

Kind regards,

Email asking for his permission to post his email.

Dear Nick's Office,

I'm thinking about posting Nick's email on my website, adding a section in regards to the work Nick is doing to put ethics in on this church.

I'd like to ask for permission to post his email.

Thank You,
Kathy Gold

Response back

Dear Kathy,

Thank you for your email to Nick Xenophon. You may want to post the below as it is more updated information:

Please be advised that Nick does not have an issue with people’s individual beliefs. However, he remains concerned by a number of allegations made against some people involved in the Church of Scientology.

In response to Nick’s strong advocacy, the Federal Government has established a body called the Australian Charities and Not For Profits Commission (ACNC) to regulate charities with tax exemptions. It can de-register charities and the government could soon redefine charities and boost their requirement for 'public benefit.'

You can raise an issue with the ACNC via:

Nick has also renewed his calls for a national cult-busting agency, as the French government's cult-busting agency Miviludes has been shown to be effective in giving protections to victims.

You are welcome to post this information, I would just ask that you leave off the contact details (my email & phone no.)
